Install Worker dApp

After creating the Worker, you must install the Worker dApp to run the Worker node.

  1. Choose the Download PICTOR Worker option.
  1. Download the right dApp for your device’s OS.
  2. Run the downloaded Pictor Worker Setup file.
  3. Follow the instructions to install the dApp.

Configure Worker

  1. Go back to the WORKER Portal and Download the Worker’s config file (each Worker has a unique config file, make sure you download the right one).
  1. Open the Worker dApp and import the downloaded config file.
  1. After connecting successfully, the app will show your Worker ID and the Worker status as Connected like this:

Process Rendering Job

When you have successfully connected the Worker dApp on your device, and keep it open, your device will be shown as an Online Worker on the Pictor network. Online workers will be chosen to distribute the rendering jobs from the network.

Once a rendering job is distributed to your Worker, it will:

  • First, download the job data
  • Then, perform the job

Note: To ensure that all the computing resources are used efficiently for the rendering jobs, the mining task will be stopped automatically while the rendering job is being performed.

Once the job is completed, it will be sent to the Creator. The Worker will be rewarded with PICTOR tokens

Mining Coin (when not processing jobs)

When your Worker is idle and hasn’t been hired by the Pictor network, you can also run the Worker dAapp to mine coins.

  1. Firstly, enable the Mining mode.
  2. Secondly, config mining by choosing a mining pool and mining coin and entering your wallet address (if you haven’t added it when creating your Worker at the Pictor Cloud).

Note: You can only run mining when not receiving a rendering job. Mining will be stopped automatically when a rendering job is distributed to you.
