Checker Rewards
Checkers play a vital role in maintaining the integrity and performance of the Pictor Network. To incentivize their efforts and ensure high-quality work, Checkers are rewarded with tokens for correctly completing their tasks. Here’s how the Checker Rewards works:
- Token Rewards: Checkers receive token rewards, a 5% commission on the payments, for successfully and accurately completing their tasks. The reward pool constitutes X% of the total tokens on the network, distributed linearly over X years (We will announce the specific numbers soon, so stay tuned for updates.)
- Distribution Method: Rewards are calculated and distributed daily based on the weighted average of the work completed correctly by each Checker. This means that Checkers who consistently perform well will receive a proportional share of the reward pool.
Slashing Mechanism
To maintain high standards of accuracy and reliability, a slashing mechanism is in place to penalize Checkers who fail to meet the expected quality benchmarks:
- Weekly Penalty: If a Checker Node accumulates two or more incorrect calculations in a single week, it will be disqualified from receiving rewards for a month. During this period, no tasks will be assigned to the Check Node.
- Monthly Penalty: If a Checker Node accumulates five or more incorrect calculations within a month, it will be disqualified from receiving rewards for six months. During this period, no tasks will be assigned to the Check Node.
- Permanent Ban: If a Checker Node accumulates ten or more incorrect calculations over time, it will be permanently banned from the network, and its qualification as a Checker Node will be revoked.
The slashing mechanism is designed to ensure that only the most reliable and accurate Checkers remain active on the network, thereby maintaining the overall quality and trustworthiness of the Pictor Network.
